Firdous Fazal Welfare Society

The most important aspect in any welfare society is how one treats his fellow men. It is the duty of any individual or group of individuals with means to provide help and support to those who are unable to support themselves. Firdous Fazal Welfare Society is one such endeavor by the Orient Group of Companies. This venture attempts to work for humanity and tackles the social and economic instabilities that affect it. While many projects have been undertaken and many more are on their way, the more prominent works are as under.


Revamp of the Eye ward at the Jinnah Hospital

The Eye unit of Jinnah Hospital has sixty beds for patients and more than fifty procedures that occur in them. On an average nine hundred to one thousand out patients are treated daily in this facility. A revamp of such a setup is a massive undertaking. The Firdous Fazal Welfare Society was up to the task with it. By spending almost Rupees 10 million on the project, Firdous Fazal welfare Society has succeeded in transforming this unit into a top of the line medical facility. Now this unit included providing free eye lenses to the patients. The Unit also now focuses on improving the teaching and management skills in the staff’s job tasks.


Construction of the Jamia Masjid Naumania at Taxali Gate, Lahore

Firdous Fazal Welfare Society has partaken the project to build The Jamia Masjid Naumania is located at Taxali gate, Lahore. The masjid can accommodate 700 worshippers and is purpose built to provide state of the art comfort for the worshippers while they perform their prayers. From setting the foundation, building the structure, woodwork, paint and texture, calligraphy to air conditioning; Firdous Fazal Welfare Society has taken a personal interest in seeing the task to its final completition.


Construction of Road between Multan Road and Maraka Village

To be a responsible factor within its surroundings, social development plays an important factor in all CSR activities under the Firdous Fazal welfare Society. To develop an improved means of access, The Firdous Fazal Welfare Society has constructed a road between Multan Road and the village of Maraka. The total project cost Rupees 2 million. This project has been further extended by connecting Maraka village to another point at Multan Road.


Distribution of Ration Package Scheme among the needy

The Firdous Fazal Society initiated a food ration scheme a while back as part of a social welfare program. While initially meant for its employees, it gradually expanded to the needy and people of lesser means. This activity particularly took stride during Ramadan. A recent significant development in this program occurred when as part of Mian Shahbaz Sharif’s Relief Program; The Firdous Fazal Welfare Society distributed the ration packages among the Earthquake- affected refugees in Malakand, Bunir and Swat to aid in their suffering and hardship.


Donation to School in Maraka Village

It is imperative for the Developed sector to Invest their time and resources in the Rural Sector. The Firdous Fazal Welfare Society recently made a donation of Rs. 10,000 to a school in Maraka Village.
